EV charging Controller Overview
E32T21 FEATURES The controller is a DIN rail mounted control module for IEC 61851 compatible EV charge points.Key features include RCMU and DLB, helping charge station manufacturers and installers meet regulations in a cost-effective way and protect against electric shock in the unlikely event of an earth fault problem.
Charging Process Initialization Sequence
After applying operating voltage, the module performs initializations. EV charging controller then conducts automatic function tests. Next, it clearly indicates a successful start-up. Subsequently, the system waits for a vehicle connection.
For the tethered version, a pulsing blue LED shows this standby state. However, the socket outlet version uses a steady blue light instead.
Once the charging process begins, the module first detects the cable or vehicle. After that, if the system recognizes an approved connecting cable, it proceeds. Then, the vehicle confirms a valid connection (state B).
Finally, the tethered version shows a steady blue LED for state B. Meanwhile, the socket outlet version displays a pulsing blue light.
After interlocking, the charge-enable relays are activated if the vehicle is signalling state C. The charging process is activated, and the LED is changed to steady-green( Tethered version)or pulsing green(Socket outlets version). If state D is indicated (ventilation required) then charging and interlock are deactivated as the E32T21 does not provide a fan-enable mechanism, and the LED is changed to steady-red .
